
Johan was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2024 as the President of the International Ski Federation (FIS). He is also a member of the IOC’s Sustainability and Legacy Commission.
Since 2021 he is the President of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation and a Council Member of Winter Olympic Federations.
Since 2024 Johan is a member of the British Olympic Association.
He previously served on the British Olympic Association Advisory Board (2003-12) and served as a Board member of the Special Olympics Great Britain (2002-2007). He has been a keen competitor in skiing, golf, tennis, curling, sailing, football, ice hockey and motor racing.
Johan was one of seven candidates who competed in the election for the presidency of the IOC at the 144th IOC Session in Costa Navarino, Greece.
