Over the past forty years, Johan has led many large multinational businesses and organisations across consumer goods, hi-tech, financial services, private equity, insurance, hotels, media and entertainment.
His career in turning around struggling companies began in 1984. Eleven years later he became CEO of HEAD, the Austrian-based sports goods company, transforming it into a global success story. He now serves as the company’s chairman.
Johan is chairman of Equity Partners, London Films and an advisory board member of Brasilinvest. Previously, he was chairman of Investcorp Europe (2010-2014), director of IMG (2006–13), chairman and director of Starr Managing Agents (2008-2015), chairman of Aman Resorts (2014-18) and advisory board member of Societe du Louvre (2005-2015).
He has been a member of the Mayor of London’s, Jerusalem’s and Rome’s International Business Advisory Councils.
Johan holds the patents to mobile phone related indirect communication system and method (modern VoIP), the messaging technology used daily by billions around the world.
