Following his nomination by Great Britain, Johan was elected president of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) in 2021 and was chosen for a second term in 2022. He will lead FIS, the largest winter sports governing body, through the 2026 Olympic Games.

Johan’s FIS leadership will grow and improve snow sports for everyone involved at every level, from recreational skiers and snowboarders to FIS athletes (and the coaches and technicians supporting them) to dedicated fans and enthusiasts to valued sponsors. 

He is committed to sustainability, inclusivity, commercial growth, and expanded participation in ski and snowboarding. Johan’s combined expertise in winter sports and climate action will reduce FIS’ carbon footprint and help ensure the next generation can enjoy skiing and snowboarding for decades to come.
